I spent a good part of time last night worrying that I wasn't going to get into any REUs. Maybe it was because I got rejected from one, but still. I have five that I haven't heard from yet. I should start hearing from them at some point. I guess I just didn't expect to hear a week after the application deadline (which happened to be more than a week after I submitted my application).
Anyway, I woke up to an e-mail that boosted my ego. A lot. I can't go into it too much right now because it may not even happen (and no, that's not just me being pessimistic), but it suffices to say that it has to do with math. More will come if it actually develops.
So I went to calc all happy over this, and they started talking about convergence and divergence of series. Considering this was the part of math that made me convert to math, this made me extremely happy.
After a late breakfast at Mollie's with Emily and Sandra (and later Shauna), I went to the financial aid awareness fair, where I picked up goodies and entered a door prize drawing. I had no idea what the door prizes were, but I like random drawings, so I entered.
French, lunch (Minda's parents were there for Sophomore Family Weekend; all of us literally squeezed around a table), and number theory were fairly uneventful, although we discussed perfect numbers, Einstein's death, and the fact that his mother's maiden name was Koch. I went back to my room before I left to resolve my I-have-nothing-to-wear-for-tomorrow's-ri
Finally (finally!) I headed to Lenox to resolve my clothing crisis. And I did resolve it at Macy's with a red dress. Finally. I need more color in my wardrobe. I was back at Agnes around 5:15 (with a stroke of luck an East train came about fifteen seconds after I arrived on the platform), giving me time to read over my friends list, which I had left untouched since last night, go to the wine and cheese reception (the first part amuses me since not many of us are twenty-one yet, but hey...), go to the talent show and watch Johanna's and Radhika's acts (both dancing, but different kinds--Johanna belly danced, and Radhika did an Indian dance), and go to dinner with Minda's parents, Minda, Stephanie, Emily, and Sandra at the Noodle. That was fun.
But I do feel fantastic. And tomorrow I get to marry Agnes. *bounce* I've already warned Mum and Dad that they won't be able to spend much time with me tomorrow since I have so much to do. Sometimes I wonder how on earth I'm going to get it done. I will. Somehow.
