First, All Your Basis Are Belong To Us. That's right. We won the Scottie Math Bowl again, complete with cool shirts that I'm using for the mathsex contest because I want that algebra book really badly. Please ignore the fact that I'm not taking algebra until the fall, which makes me want it even more.

Anyway, my presentation went really well. I'm hoping the small audience was because it was early and not because of my topic. Right now, though, I'm in the math center working away at my number theory problem set, but I'm stuck. Hence why I'm updating.

This is bad because it's due at one tomorrow. *headdesks* Funny, I haven't seen too many people actually working on it, and I usually see everyone at some point. It'd be really bad if everyone else thought it was easy and I didn't. Actually, it'd be kind of sad, considering my future plans. There's one problem I'm completely stuck on, though: show that if an elliptic curve has no solutions mod p, it has no integer solutions. I see intuitively why it makes sense, but I have no idea how to start proving it.

It's going to be a long night. If I'm not in calc or French tomorrow, this is why. I'll probably stumble into number theory tomorrow looking like a zombie.

As we wrote in those letters to friends as kids, Longer Letter Later.
