We went to lunch and dinner with Dante, the colloquium speaker. He actually hung out with us this morning while we were working in groups, and we told him about the problems we were working on. When I came in this morning and Neil introduced me to him, somehow Dante mentioned he was in Canada now. Being rather curious, I asked where. When he said Halifax, I told him all about my screenplay and Script Frenzy and how Miranda goes to Nova Scotia and winds up traveling a good chunk of the province to see a solar eclipse. That was my freakout moment of the day.
Now Cliff wants to figure out why I am the way I am--or rather, why I'm so "weird". He thinks Amanda should be more outgoing, and now he's trying to figure me out. This should be interesting. I could just tell him the story of my life, but that would take awhile, and that would be kind of boring. Learning the hard way is more fun, plus I get to
We ate Chinese with Dante tonight. My fortune cookie read:
You always have the right answers; they just sometimes ask the wrong questions.
I really like that. It's something I learn over time, I think, and probably explains why I'm so out there. Something for me to think about, anyway.
