grammar list

My inner grammarian is wailing.

And the Mt. Holyoke REU application is in the mail. Or in the pipes and tubes, to be more accurate. Now I have to put together a résumé. By Thursday. Yes, I meant to do this a long time ago, but I really do have to have it finished by Thursday.

Today I walked over to CVS to buy laundry detergent, and on the way back I looked for the "Employee's Only" parking sign (I kid you not; that pained me to type) so I could take a picture of it. Luckily, someone had finally replaced the sign with an "EMPLOYEE PARKING" sign--a grammatically correct one, at that. Whew. Never fear, for I have a grammatical error behind the cut that makes the grammarian in me cry.

I'm still trying to figure out what possession of mine was invited. If you're wondering, I didn't go, but only because I was in the LSC that night and stayed there until midnight working on that number theory problem set. (Mira, Sarah, and Jane stayed even longer after I finished and left. Hey, I wanted sleep.)

I've been thinking about more non-traditional approaches to journaling lately. I feel like I'm in a writerly rut lately. I haven't been improving, whether through writing fiction or through writing personally. I'm just writing about the same stuff every day. I need a way to change this. Maybe I should just draw for a page or so. I usually don't do that because... well, I don't know why, really. I guess it's because I can express my thoughts through text much more succintly than I can through visuals.

Also, I've started writing down my plans for the mathverse. Hey, November's only nine months away, and I actually have a plan early for once. I need to start planning it out, teasing it out, getting to know the little universe that has lived in my head since before my conversion to the math side.
