chess: face to face

My brain is a dangerous place. Approach with caution.

Now it's time for that long-awaited completely random update.

You know how I have really weird thoughts while dancing around the edge of consciousness? Well, this morning I had another one of those. I was thinking about the Orion Nebula, which is below the Orion Belt, and then I thought what a cool name Below Orion's Belt would be for a band. And then the real fun begins. I started to think of all the different contexts one could use it.

Betelgeuse: "Hey, there's the new band, Below Orion's Belt. Have you checked them out?"

Rigel: "Are you going to see Below Orion's Belt tonight?"
Betelgeuse: "Dude, I bought my tickets weeks ago. I wouldn't miss it."

Bonus: If the band broke up, the lead singer could always start a career as Orion's Sword.

But then I realized the potential mispronunciation of the name. Just say Below Orion's Belt really fast. I swear that wasn't intentional, but some people might think it is, just like some people think you can hear satanic messages by playing songs backwards. This is how all good celebrity rumours begin.

I've also had the weird urge to use "Bow-chicka-bow-wow" in conversation lately. Please do not ask why, for I have no idea either. I can imagine the weird looks I'd get, especially from those in my generation. Actually, that would make it even funnier.

And of course, being home for break means sharing a bathroom with Jeffrey again. He thinks that since I don't live there anymore, he can keep the bathroom any way he pleases since Mum and Dad have their own bathroom. His idea of keeping the bathroom is, well, not clean. I went in there on Friday night and saw a towel and a Dragon Ball Z action figure on the sink. He's eighteen; I don't want to know what he's going to do next year when he goes to college. That's his business, though.

In the meantime, Daylight Savings Time may be evil, but I rose above it. Take that, DST!
