Le sigh...

I was looking up a little detail of my multivariable test (yay for open-book tests!), and I found this little bugger.

</i>If, in addition, gradf(a,b,c) =/= 0, then
* gradf(a,b,c) is in the direction of gratest rate of increase of f.</i>

Who knew one could grate a gradient? This book is in its third edition; shouldn't someone have caught it by now?
