Mother's Day, writing, and cleaning

I noticed that I haven't been able to write as much or as well lately. Even when I write on paper, I stare into space, thoughts swirling through my mind, before putting pen to paper. All these thoughts are perfectly valid thoughts to put on paper, but for some reason I don't commit them to ink. I don't know whether it's because I choose not to, or because I don't want to admit things to myself, or for whatever reason. Either way, I think writing even more will help me break this censorship I seem to have built within me.

Today was Mother's Day. Jeffrey and I bought Mum a card this afternoon [a rather silly one, actually; it has the little kid coupons that we used to make as kids] and some candy; she's rather fond of the Starbursts. Uncle Pat stopped by Grandmother's house with a two-foot-high card [he buys one for her every year; I think she still has a lot of them].

I also made lots of progress on my room. My desk is now nice and clean; unfortunately I don't have photographic evidence. I also vacuumed my room. If I had known that my floor were that dusty before now, I would have freaked. I did all this in the wrong order anyway since I forgot to dust the Barbies before dusting everything else before vacuuming, so I catch all the dust in the end. [For those who don't know, I collected Barbies when I was a kid. I have around 100 of them in their original boxes in shelves in my room, and maintaining them is kind of difficult.] So I may wind up vacuuming again this week anyway. Oh, and washing my bedspread, which I still haven't done yet.

Don't worry. I have no idea what happened to those days either. Whatever the case, things have happened. Not extremely shocking things like my sudden…

Today I was feeling the urge to clean. Granted, I really wanted to do this in order to start cleaning out the big box of memories, and by big I do…
