So. I didn't get into any of the summer programs I applied to. Apparently the last one mailed the rejection letter to my permanent address, which I haven't seen in months. Luckily Mum opened it and read it to me. Normally I don't like her touching my mail, but this one was important.

This means, of course, that I need a Plan B for the summer. Last summer I made one and didn't need it. This year I do. I've been making this plan for quite awhile now: stay in Atlanta for the summer, work, write and edit, do math, make another trip up to see Andrew, possibly continue the Great Internet Tour. And now I actually get to use it.

Now with that, anyone know of good places to look for summer apartments/other places to stay? I know of places. Places that are hiring? I'm just weeding out the bad and the good.

In a way, I think this is a good thing. I've been feeling really burned out lately, and I think part of it is because of the severe imbalance of math and writing in my life. This summer will be a chance to bring that balance back in my life, as well as explore the world around me.

Also, I climbed a tree today. I should edit my 101 in 1001 list. I'll do that later.

Hmm, I don't know if they're still taking people, but try for an internship at Paste magazine in Decatur. I know they give out an $800 stipend to full-time interns. They have editorial positions.
