Saturday, Part One

All right, time for me to tell you all about Saturday [since some of us are impatient -cough-]. Dee, Ashley, and I had it planned pretty well in advance. I woke up long before Dee's promised wake-up call (I was actually eating breakfast then), and we left my house around 10am. Since Dixie Stampede didn't start until 6pm, we had time to wander around Pigeon Forge for the rest of the day before the evening. We did just that.

After making the 2.5-hour drive and arriving in Pigeon Forge, we stopped by this mall because Ashley wanted to stop by a pottery place there. By this point we were singing along to Disney songs, and the song on at that moment was "Can You Feel The Love Tonight" (yes, from The Lion King). These lines particularly struck me for some reason:

[Timon:] I can see what's happ'ning
[Pumba:] (What?)
[Timon:] And they don't have a clue!
[Pumba:] (Who?)
[Timon:] They'll fall in love and here's the bottom line
Our trio's down to two
[Pumba:] (Oh.)

Maybe it's because I've been part of a trio in almost all my friendships, but I thought of what would happen if anyone in any of my trios fell in love. What if I'm that person? I don't want to be the person to make the trio down to two.

We stayed in the car for the rest of the song, singing along. After that we went into the mall, most of which was an outlet mall. I love those places! I knew I would love it when I went in and saw a bookstore right in front of me. I made a beeline for the place. Unfortunately, I didn't find anything on the reading list, even after scouring the store (it was extremely disorganised), but I did find a new French dictionary for only $7.50. Considering the condition of my current one is going downhill (but I want to keep it because of the grammar section in the back), this was an incredibly good deal, even though I still want a monolingual French dictionnaire.

After this we went to a clothes store whose name I can't remember that had all sorts of clothes for much less than they would sell for at their regular stores. Swell. I bought a new pair of jeans for just $4. Luckily, I didn't keep up this pattern. Fast-forwarding through a lot of stores (I didn't buy anything else, by the way), and we finally arrived at the pottery store I mentioned earlier.

The store didn't have just pottery, though. Ashley went to look for stuff that she needed for decoration, while Dee and I just looked around the store. After oohing and aahing over pretty bowls and fake flowers, we eventually found ourselves in the scrapbooking section. I don't scrapbook, but I love oohing and aahing over all the cute little stickers. Today, however, I found myself oohing and aahing over all the hearts and romantic sayings and such. "Wow, I'm sounding all lovey-dovey today, aren't I?" I told her.

Part Two coming tomorrow!

Why is it so amusing to see my brother wearing this shirt? Oh, that's right.
