Over time I've accumulated items that I can't return. Not because I've damaged them in some way, but because I borrowed them from a friend fully intending to return them, but we're no longer in touch, and now we're no longer in touch.

What does one do with these items, anyway, especially when there's a chance you could see them again? Keep them? Give them away? There is a really good recipe for a chocolate torte in one of them, so I'm just saying...

If you're honestly never going to see the person and you won't feel bad about it, keep the items. If you think said items might have sentimental value and/or feel guilty, try last resorts to contact them (facebook..?) and consider shipping the stuff.
(Recipes can be copied.)
I would keep it. If it's not something they can replace, it's no biggie.

I'd say if they don't give you bad memories, stash them in a box and keep them a while. Goodness knows I have a bunch of things like that too. XD
