Happy Bastille Day! I'm not French, but I just felt a need to say that. Also, happy birthday to alfvaen! (See, I can remember to check the birthday list on the right day occasionally.)

I have a month and a half left of holiday. That sounds like a long time, oui? It does. It feels like forever right now, but next thing I know, I'll be back in class for another semester of school. Between now and then, though, anything can happen--anything from the ordinary to the extraordinary to the flat-out unexpected.

Nothing unusual happened today outside of my waking up at 4am. I haven't been able to go to sleep lately. Thoughts keep flying in and out of my mind, and instead of being the cranky old maid that one would expect me to be (after all, I;m trying to go to sleep), I invite them in for chatting over tea. Sometimes, though, these thoughts overstay their welcome, and as a result, I don't get the sleep that I deserve. Next time I'll spike their tea.

I feel like I'm in a movie, and someone's standing over me with a remote control, pressing the PAUSE button. This summer can't end soon enough.
